Hurling Fever
Juniors and seniors join in the excitement of the up coming all Ireland final. They are hard at work making clay hurleys . Michael proudly holds up his Dinny Darcy hurley, Infants carry on the tradition of hurley making in the parish. UP TIPP! Good luck to Donagh and the Tipperary team.

Mr Stapleton and the boys give Paul Hollywood a masterclass in baking.
We have been learning about the story of chocolate, from the cocoa bean to the chocolate bar in the shop.The boys bake chocolate buns for the class with Mr Stapleton and share their recipe with us.Eating the chocolate buns is the best ending to our chocolate lesson.
Infants are delighted with a visit from our friendly Garda Síochána
Pádraig and Maureen chat to the children about their uniform and equipment. The handcuffs and baton are a big hit with everyone. They enjoy talking to the guards at the station over the walkie talkie and have fun getting their finger prints taken. They listen to a talk on road safety and promise to wear their seat belt whenever they go on a car journey. A big thank you to Maureen and Pádraig from CSI Burgess Infants ... Roger and out .....

Donagh brings Liam back to his school and parish. The Tipp minor team and the Burgess Duharra camogie team also bring their silverware. We all dress in the Tipp. colours, sing songs, wave flags and Jean our resident baker bakes a cake.

Everyone enjoyed learning interesting facts about Africa. We looked at its countries , languages, native animals, culture, art, music and dance.
Senior Infants work together to write the story "Handa's Surprise" They then get to taste the exotic fruit listed in the story

PETS Theme
Pupils are busy learning about pets. They create a pet shop, groom puppies, feed pets and enjoy literarcy and numeracy activities. The highlight of the theme was the visit of Doireann's puppies to Burgess School.
