Europe Day 21st March 2024
We really enjoyed participating in the Run Across Europe challenge over the past 4 weeks. Today we held a Europe day in the hall to mark the fact that each class ran daily for the past 4 weeks and reached their chosen destinations. . Each class created a display area with souvenirs, memorabilia , books, pottery, jerseys etc applicable to their country. Each class also had a table with samples of food from the different countries for tasting. . Senior classes dressed in traditional costumes and presented their projects to the whole school community. It was a wonderful experience and one that we all wholeheartedly enjoyed and benefitted from this project Well done everyone.

Sincere Sympathy
Burgess N.S. is heartbroken once again to hear of the sad passing of one of our past pupils Derek Mulqueen. Derek attended Burgess N.S. from the years 1998 to 2006. He will always be remembered as a very gentle, friendly, caring pupil whose smile touched the hearts of pupils and teachers every school day. We would like to express our deepest sympathy to all the Mulqueen family at this very difficult time. Comhbhrón ó chroí oraibh. Tá sibh inár gcuid smaointe agus paidreacha. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilís.
We are delighted to have Patsy Farrell joining us for Basketball skills every Tuesday
Sincere Sympathy
It was with great sadness that we heard of the death of Anne O’Brien, former teacher and Deputy Principal in Burgess N.S. The news of her passing has prompted an outpouring of condolences and tributes honouring her kindness and the impact that she had on the lives of those she taught and
worked with. She will be remembered as a lady with great insight and creativity. Anne had a flair and love for the Irish language, she led the choir in the school and parish and created many special memories for Burgess families. Anne was a proud Clare woman who enriched the lives of the
Burgess Community, she will be sadly missed. We express our deepest sympathies to Anne's family and friends at this very sad time.
